Helldivers 2 Terminids: Enemy Counters and Loadout

To fight Helldivers 2 Terminids, sidestep a Charger’s rush, keep the squad out of acid-spew lanes, and reserve heavy weapons or orbital tools for Bile Titans and other armored threats. Start with Blitzer or Sickle for routine crowd fire, GP-31 for explosive utility, and a dedicated Recoilless Rifle player for heavy response. This patch 7.1.1 plan is for four-player difficulty 7–10 missions: one player keeps space open while the heavy player takes a clear shot, then the squad moves toward the objective.

Deployment checklist

Your next steps

  • Move sideways when a Charger rushes.
  • Avoid standing together in an acid-spew lane.
  • Save a heavy-response tool for Bile Titans.
  • Keep Blitzer or Sickle working while support reloads.
  • Place sentries away from the retreat route.
  • Clear the path to the objective, then keep moving.
01

Which enemy needs which response?

Use the threat’s behavior to choose your first action, then select the weapon role. The table turns the official enemy descriptions into squad decisions, without assuming every variant has the same armor interaction.

02

Weapons and Stratagems to bring

Blitzer is a close-range multi-target option; Sickle is the heat-managed rifle alternative. Add GP-31 and a stun grenade when owned, then complete the kit with Recoilless Rifle, Eagle Airstrike, Orbital Precision Strike and Gatling Sentry. Keep the Recoilless ammunition backpack slot free. If another teammate already covers heavy targets, you can take Stalwart and Supply Pack for sustained crowd fire instead.

03

How to create a safe reload window

Name the player who keeps the near approach clear before the heavy weapon starts reloading. Move laterally rather than backing every teammate into one choke point. Use a stun or a placed sentry to hold an approach while the squad changes position; keep the sentry’s firing lane away from that route. Once the heavy tool is ready, finish the blocking target and move again.

04

Defense missions versus moving objectives

For High-Value Assets defense, choose a separate sentry lane, keep one player firing through another player’s reload, and preserve a strike for the generator approach. 7.1.0 increased enemy pressure and shortened wave gaps. On moving objectives, clear the next route segment rather than waiting for a perfect full-area cleanup; use heavy tools for the threat blocking that route.

05

What to change when the loadout fails

If small enemies repeatedly interrupt the heavy player, improve crowd fire or reload cover first. If Titans or Chargers remain unhandled, assign a second heavy-response tool before replacing every primary. If the squad repeatedly gets trapped, adjust the route and sentry placement before adding another explosive. Change one role for the next operation so you can tell which change solved the failure.
