Deployment checklist
Read a patch before rebuilding your kit
- Check the patch number and release date in the latest game news.
- Read the highlights before judging individual balance changes.
- Mark any change that touches your normal loadout or faction.
- Test one adjusted slot in a familiar mission first.
- Update squad roles if a new enemy or modifier changes pressure.
- Keep the patch notes separate from early reactions.
What Devoid of Liberty 7.0.0 changes
Devoid of Liberty 7.0.0 is live on PS5, PC, and Xbox as of August 12, 2026. Its headline additions include a new Void frontier, new hostile Illuminate organisms, and higher-intensity frontline operations. It also raises the rank cap to 300 and expands the emote wheel from four slots to eight. These additions make the patch wider than a simple weapon balance pass, so check the parts that affect your regular missions first.
New enemies and friendly support change mission pressure
The update adds the Crusher and Wretch to the Illuminate faction. The Crusher can regenerate after heavy damage, while the agile Wretch can dodge and leap toward players, so the squad should keep room for focused damage and fast close-pressure response. SEAF can now appear as a planet modifier and fight alongside the squad with supporting tools. These additions can change target priority and positioning even when you keep the same personal weapon loadout.
Castellan’s Creed arrives with the update
The patch also brings the Warhammer 40,000 Castellan’s Creed Legendary Warbond. It includes the R/40-K Hot-Shot Marksman Rifle, P/40-K Bolt Pistol, 40-K Meltagun Stratagem, and G/40-K Meltamine alongside armor, capes, and vehicle patterns. It is a separate purchase at 1,500 Super Credits and cannot be claimed with a Premium Warbond token. Treat the Warbond as an optional build expansion, not as a mandatory requirement to play the new update.
Test before rewriting a tier list
A patch can make an old recommendation stale, but it does not automatically make every familiar item weak. Read the patch notes, identify the enemy, armor, weapon, or Stratagem they affect, and test that interaction in a familiar difficulty. Change one role or slot at a time so you can see what solved the problem. This produces a useful build adjustment instead of a new ranking built on the first day of a patch.
Check game news after a patch
Steam announcements carry detailed notes, while the PlayStation release post confirms that Devoid of Liberty also entered the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium Game Catalog. That launch week included a limited community target to eliminate 500 million enemies by August 18, 2026 for PlayStation avatars; it is not a permanent gameplay system. Check the date, version number, and your region’s catalog before you rely on an availability claim. Then use official notes to decide what to test in your next missions and adapt your loadout to the problems your squad actually meets.
